IPMI is a monitoring tool that allows remote control of all hardware aspects of a server :
- obtain information on temperature, fans, etc.
- check whether a machine is switched on or off
- turning off and restarting a machine if necessary
The IPMI functionality will therefore improve any maintenance operations on the BeeRack as it will be easier to control a server without a keyboard/mouse/monitor, provided you have access to the client network.
