The SQL plugin developed by Beemo offers a new way of backing up your databases and restoring them more easily, without prior knowledge of SQL tools.
Until now, databases have been backed up by backing up the individual files that make them up, which requires knowledge of the existing files and their location.
The SQL plugin improves the backup process when selecting items for backup. In the backup view, creating new instance and database nodes lists all available databases.

This new feature facilitates the backup process by making the selection of databases to be backed up simple and intuitive. The display of the databases in the tree structure means that you do not have to search for the files stored on the hard disk(s) one by one. Simply select the desired database(s) directly and start the backup.

The SQL plugin also improves the process of restoring databases by allowing them to be restored to their original configuration (including all the settings that existed when the databases were saved). The saved databases are therefore automatically recreated without any intervention on your part. You just need to choose the SQL instance where to restore the database, either in the original instance or in another instance on the same server or on another server.

The SQL plugin features are currently available for SQL Server databases and will soon be available for Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
Other developments include the introduction of differential backup, transaction log backup, and Point In Time Recovery (PITR), which allows databases to be restored to their original state.
