1/ A full backup of your machines
By complete backup we mean all the elements present: documents, mailboxes, passwords, software and applications. The Universal Bare Metal backup also includes the backup of the operating system as well as all the files related to it and which will allow at the time of the restoration not to have to reinstall the operating system on the new computer.
Universal Bare Metal Backup is simple to implement and can be done on the fly. There is very little to do, the main thing is to choose the partition(s) to back up. A boot disk will be provided for restorations.
It is advisable to perform a weekly Universal Bare Metal backup to ensure up-to-date restores.
2/ A quick restoration of the system
Universal Bare Metal Backup is a backup method that has many advantages, especially when it comes to restoration :
- There is no risk of missing important files as all data on the hard disk is backed up,
- The restoration time is very short despite the volume of data backed up,
- Restoration can be done on a different physical or virtual machine than the original one. The Universal Bare Metal backup contains all the data necessary to restore the system even on a computer without an operating system,
- The software in the backup is automatically reinstalled and configured as before. You have very little involvement in the restoration process.
The value of a Universal Bare Metal backup is also and above all justified in the event of a system failure or disaster which would lead to a momentary interruption of access to the data on the server and therefore an interruption of activity.
