Beemo is expanding its hardware range with the BeeStorage, a new storage server designed to be scalable and back up to 256 TB of data. The BeeStorage works with and is connected to the BeeRaid 3TB Rackable. To increase the available storage space, BeeStorage-JBOD units are then added to the BeeStorage.

JBOD (“Just a bunch of disk”) technology makes it possible to combine several hard disks into a single unit. The Beemo hardware range offers 2 sizes of BeeStorage-JBOD :

• The 32 TB BeeStorage-JBOD which contains 12 x 4 TB hard drives (3U),
• The 64 TB BeeStorage-JBOD which contains 20 x 4 TB (4U) hard drives.

Up to four 64 TB or 32TB BeeStorage-JBODs can be connected to the BeeStorage for a maximum of 256 TB of storage space.

Each BeeStorage-JBOD contains, in addition to the storage disks, a spare disk. If one of the disks fails, the spare disk automatically takes over, thus avoiding any interruption and data loss.

This storage server has the advantage of being scalable as BeeStorage-JBODs can be added as and when required by the user. It is thus possible to use a single BeeStorage-JBOD and then, if the volume of data increases, to add up to three additional BeeStorage-JBODs to the existing structure to increase storage space.
